Georgia Aquarium

Georgia Aquarium is a publicly accessed aquarium in Atlanta, Georgia. Home to hundreds of species and thousands of different animals all swimming in more than 11 million gallons of fresh and saltwater. It was considered the largest aquarium in the world during its first opening in 2005 lasted until 2012 when it became the third-largest.

The Aquarium’s notable species are whale sharks, beluga whales, California sea lions, bottlenose dolphins, and manta rays.

Health Protocols

Georgia Aquarium is open for access to the public. They have a limited capacity for each of their 30-minute entry timeslots, new cleaning and sanitization practices, and other processes to ensure that the Aquarium is safe and fun for everyone.

In accordance with the federal government, Georgia Aquarium is requiring all guests and staff must wear face masks covering the nose and mouth throughout their whole stay.

What to consider before visiting

Entry to Atlanta’s Georgia Aquarium will be in a 30-minute timeslot and visitor’s admission is only valid during the timeslot that has been selected. All ticket purchasing is only available online and should be purchased prior to your visit. Children age 2 and under are still free.

The Georgia Aquarium Experience

The Georgia Aquarium provides many choices to experience whether animal encounter, swim and dive, shows and presentations to sleepovers.

Animal Encounters

Each guest 15 years old and under must have a supervising adult to come with them. One adult per minor must be observed. 7+ age range are only allowed to participate. All participants must be ticketed before the Interaction. Guests 17 and under must provide the institution a program liability waiver signed and dated by a parent or legal guardian. Noncompliance and failure to follow all of the requirements will be canceled.

Swim And Dive

Shark Cage Dives, Swim and Dive with Gentle Giants, and Rebreather Dive Programs are available in Georgia Aquarium. Occurs daily at 4:30 pm and lasts 2.5 hours. Equipment, 30 minutes in the water, certification for participation, a shirt, and a souvenir photo. All participants must be 12 and above to join. Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a supervising adult un the water with them. Parents and legal guardians must sign the program liability waiver before joining the program.
