Zoo Atlanta

Zoo Atlanta is located in Grant Park Atlanta, Georgia just a few minutes from Downton Atlanta. Houses more than 1,000 animals, from more than 200 species from around the world. One of the many reasons why everyone should consider visiting Zoo Atlanta is that it is the only three zoos in the United States that habitats white and black critters.

Visitor’s Information

As part of the Zoo’s commitment to the continued well-being of the guests, team members, and animals that are in their care everyone must abide by the rules pertaining to avoidance of the spreading of the COVID-19 virus.

General admission guests must select timed reservations must purchase tickets online in advance prior to the visit. Members are no longer required to avail themselves of the time reservations during visitations. Walk-ups will also be encouraged to purchase online via mobile device however daily capacity is limited.

Safety and Health Guidelines

Masks are required for ages 2 and above inside and for some of the optional experiences such as Wild Encounters. Hand sanitizing stations can also be found throughout the Zoo for visitors’ convenience. The Zoo also do frequent cleaning and disinfection touchpoint and restrooms.

Promote social distancing by remaining at least six feet away from those who aren’t part of your party.

Conservation

Zoo Atlanta is directly involved in field conservation for wildlife and wild areas around the globe, including Africa, Asia, Central, and South America. Explore the African Savanna

Zoo Atlanta houses different animals including elephants, giraffes, zebras, ostriches, warthogs, and meerkats. Elements include Abana Pond, a pond with 360-degrees access, and also a gentle slope for the use of multiple elephants. Giraffes, zebras, and ostriches are provided with new, flatter habitats with more usable space than ever.
